Welcome to the Newsong Academy. We want Newsong to be a place that teaches people to bring everything God has put in them to the table, so you can be launched into the fullness of your calling. Much like X-Men, we believe that what makes you different is not a mutation, it’s a GIFT. Below are some experiences for you to explore – jump in ready to learn and be transformed!

God, Israel and Gaza

Dave Gibbons hosted this online gathering in November 2023 to listen to Palestinian Christians and their perspectives on Israel, Gaza and the genocide. It was an opportunity to meet brilliant Palestinian thought leaders like Dr. Munther Isaac and Shireen Awwad Hilal, with Shane Claiborne and Mae Cannon who helped to curate the time together.

This month's Forum is all about a magical and sacred space: The Table. Our People & Leadership Development Team is excited to introduce a new way of getting connected in the coming year: HVN Meet-Ups. Each meet-up is a pop-up gathering of 10-15 people – it could be  at a local restaurant, or with affinity groups that get activated together.

SUPPORTING MENTAL HEALTH

 

The church has often struggled to talk about mental health. At Newsong, we want to destigmatize that conversation.

We recently launched a Sunday series called "Sound Mind," all about promoting a healthy mindset in the midst of fear, anxiety and confusion. Plus we continue to follow the lead of the mental health experts God has brought to our community, including two new courses this month. Our hope is that this is part of equipping each of us to “love the Lord our God with all our mind.”
